The First Christmas

This was Cristian's very first Christmas season and I was very excited to celebrate in a big way--unfortunately fate had other plans. The week before Christmas the plague seemed to hit the school he is at and all the kids were sick. C held his own pretty well but feel victim the Friday before Christmas. He was still a trooper and managed to find it in him to open presents from his Auntie Gina, Grandpa and Uncle Mikey and family:

We delayed our trip down south until Sunday, but finally made our way because we did not want to drive on Christmas Eve. As is our usual custom, we grabbed Hardee's before we hit the road. Boy, was that a decision we would come to regret. That night, with C still not feeling well and us tired from our trip, the hammer fell and both Vlad and I had food poisoning. We were pretty much out of commission all of Christmas Eve. We managed to rally and open presents that night. C was feeling much better and seemed to enjoy his bounty. Thank goodness for Grandma!

Lights, LIghts and more Lights!

Every year the nearby hospital (the one where C was born) puts up lights around there duck pond and there is plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the sights. Since Grandma and Grandpa came to see C this weekend, we decided to take some time and go enjoy the lights and the cool, well not so cool, evening. Got me thinking that last year at this time Vlad and I had just found out that we were going to have a little boy--very exciting! My Dad and sister were here and we went with them to see the lights. Good times! Here are some photos of C's first Christmas light adventure:

Thanksgiving Day 2012

I always have the best of intentions to publish things in a timely manner, but time seems to be a hot commodity. I just realized that I never posted a picture from Cristian's first Thanksgiving. We spent our Thanksgiving with our Gainesville Family as we could not justify the exorbitant airfare to fly out to California. We will make sure to visit Grandpa in early 2013--Hopefully before C turns 1!

We only took on picture on Thanksgiving so we made it count--family photo!
