Father's Day 2013

For Father's Day, I had this great idea to go to the beach for the weekend. C had never been, so why not? Boy, a lot of work is involved for such a short trip. However, it was fun and we had a good time at the beach with Daddy for Father's Day!

"Whoa, what is this place?"

Yum....Sand!

We tried to build a sandcastle!

Then had fun destroying them!

Taking a tour of the water with Daddy!

Toosha staying as far from Cristian as possible

Grrrrr, Tia the Brave!

Cute Moments

Cristian is very much into reading...and reading...and re-reading the same books over and over again. Sometimes Mommy and Daddy have to tag team it so that we do not go batty reciting things such as "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do YOU see?" or "Goodnight room, Goodnight moon, Goodnight cow jumping over the moon..." They newest favorite is Goodnight Gorilla. Boy, he thinks that is a funny one.

However, I digress. As much as I hate to read the same book 30 times, when I walk in on moments such as these it makes me smile:

I mean, that is just adorable, is it not? I just have to add that the book in this photo has since been decimated in a one-year-old fit of rage. From angel to devil in 2.6 seconds.

Speaking of devil, C had his eye on one plastic drawer that contained every bobby pin, hair clip, barrette, claw clip, pony tail holder I owned. I always stopped him from getting to it. However, last week it became suspiciously quiet in the house and I knew that trouble had to be in the wind. I walk into my room to find this:

Quiet as can be...did not even respond when I was calling for him. Now I know why. I am still finding bobby pins everywhere.

First Graduation Ceremony

Today was the "graduation" ceremony from the infant class at B'nai Israel Community Day School. It truly was the cutest thing I have ever seen (the pictures will tell the story). I am quite amazed at the amount of time and dedication went into such a set-up from the teachers. I am so impressed with the outcome of the event and feel grateful that Cristian has such wonderful women watching him everyday. It is obvious that he loves me and that makes me feel great to leave him in such capable and loving hands.

A little shy at first...did not want to come to graduation

So proud of my big boy!

Two handsome men!

Trying for the family photo!

The drool adds to the outfit!

So proud of our baby room graduate!

The teachers even made a video yearbook that was too cute for words and made me tear up watching it.

Such an emotional day for me. I  can foresee many a moment such as this in my future. Such a happy mommy.

Happy Birthday to Cristian!

I have been MIA where the blog is concerned but it is not for lack of desire to post, but rather the lack of time to do so. With a more mobile Cristian comes a very busy day of chasing a toddler! A toddler! I can't believe my little man is a toddler! Where did the last year go?! I remember being in the hospital, waiting for his arrival, so vividly.

Now, here we are, one year later and our entire lives have changed. I thought I knew happiness, but I had no idea. He is my heart. It has been a year of extraordinary change, learning and love.

Thanks to wonderful Uncle Brian, we have a video documenting his first year! You can view the video here.

Want some?

What is this thing? A dinosaur shaped cake? Whaaaaaat?!

Love this little man of mine!

Anticipating the cake...

I Left My Heart In San Francisco

At the end of March, C made his first trip out to the west coast to meet the family. Up until this point, he had only met his grandpa. It was time to meet everyone else.

It was nice to be able to spend time with everyone and even through in a trip to the zoo...

...and to Napa...

...and the Jelly Belly factory....

....and there was an Easter Egg Hunt.

There were plenty more pictures and they are all on Facebook. :)

Hilton Head, SC to Visit the BFF

Since Natalie had Lily in October and I was pregnant with C--and her having a 6-month-old when I was delivering C--meant that there was not really a plan for us to see each other. Going more than one year without seeing your best friend is criminal. We were finally about to make it happen with a trip to Hilton Head Island, SC. It was a nice little getaway -- even though it was cold on the beach.

I need to find the photos of the babies together, but for now, these beach pics will have to do. :)
There is no excuse for my lack of posting other than to use the cliche "life got in the way" or "i was just too busy", but alas, that is my defense. Too much going on and something had to give. The last post involved Spirit Week at school--such a long time ago. The month of March was such an exciting time. On his ten-month birthday, Cristian decided it was time to crawl and away he went. The mobility has skyrocketed to the point that he is so close to walking. Here are some pictures to catch us up:
